The library of the center is now reopened after fourteen month and with a new organization and is ready to serve the Muslim community. This was possible through about 1700 man-hours of team work, financial assistance of some Iranian fellows, and technical support of some respected friends.
All the books have been classifies and designated with a five digit index, which makes them easily accessible through the library and our website as well.
The first two digits of the index represent the number of the correspondent shelf, the third digit represents the level number, and the last two digits refers to the order of the book in the level.
The search feature is available on the website, which allows the users to look for books based on their name or the name of the author.
Moreover, the library is proud to present an extensive collection of Iranian movies and Iranian TV series.
Other facilities of the library include a collection of religious audio/video CDs such as Tafsir of Quran, Q&A, supplications, eulogy, etc which can be borrowed. The CDs of Tafsir of Quran and the Q&A session recorded at the Center are among the most popular items of the library.
Becoming a member of the library, borrowing books and CDs, receiving prayer timetables, and getting educational CDs on the Holy Quran and prayer are all free of charge.
The library of the Islamic Iranian Center of Imam Ali is pleased to received and book donations.
One of the popular sections of the Center is the "Matrimony Room". This section, which was recently decorated by some experts, is widely admired by the people, especially the youth.
Another important improvement in the Center is the renovation of the main hall. Recently, with a great donation of the brothers, about 10000 square feet of nice carpet was bought and it replaced the old worn carpet of the main hall. The cost of installing the new carpet was provided by the Center, and a group of the member of the Center participated in the installation.
In addition to that, the chandeliers and lamps of the main hall were replaced with high efficiency lamps in order to increase the light and safety besides reducing the utility costs. The cost of buying this equipment was over five thousand dollars, and their installations were done by an expert who is an Iraqi-origin member of the Center, assisted by some of the youth.
Another cost-saving measure was changing the old water heater. The newly installed water heater is cost-beneficial not only because it has less maintenance cost, but also due to its fuel-efficiency.
By purchasing three new projectors and the relevant equipment, the programs such as recitation of Dua Kumail and Tafsir of Quran displayed on large screens, so that all the audiences can view it perfectly from every spot of the main hall.
In order to facilitate the process of cooking, especially for the ceremonies in which thousands of people participate, and also to enhance the safety, the kitchen of the Center is under broad renovation. We hope that with the help of Allah (SWT) and the support of the members, this task will be accomplished by the end of this summer.
Installing new windows, refurbishing and parking lot, and renovating the entrance are all under consideration, and should the required budget be provided by the members, they will be commenced shortly, if Allah (SWT) wills.
